					<description><![CDATA[I believe that it is absolutely necessary to embrace absurdity because the alternatives are really horrible.  People don&#039;t realise it, but believing that there is a reason behind every event causes paranoia, racism and delusions of self-pity.  Absurdity means we must impose our own meaning.  It may not be successful.  That&#039;s tough, but real.  Unfortunately, absurdity can lead to either nihilism, which is kind of superficial, or fatalism, which is dangerous because it is all the more realistic and sincere.  I recently realised that I am an atheist.  The penny dropped.  I could no longer defend theism.  Contrary to what my religious friends would think, the world opened up to me.  Absurdity, but not nihilism, is both liberating and realistic.]]></description>
